Somatic Experiencing
Healing Through the Body
"The body remembers what the mind forgets"
-Unknown

Somatic Experiencing (SE™) is a gentle, body-focused approach to healing trauma and stress. Developed by Peter Levine, Ph.D., it results from the multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, with more than 45 years of successful application. Hari is an intermediate-level student of SE™ and has integrated SE™ in his practice as a therapist and leadership coach.
Trauma may begin as acute stress from a perceived life-threat or as the end product of cumulative stress. Both types of stress can impair, sometimes seriously, a person’s ability to function with resilience and ease. In SE™, the focus is on how trauma shows up in the nervous system and how that dysregulation impacts life. Instead of revisiting painful memories, SE™ helps you tune into your body’s sensations to release tension and restore balance.
SE™ can help you:
- Feel more grounded and present.
- Reduce anxiety and overwhelm.
- Improve sleep and physical well-being.
- Enhance your ability to cope with stress.

Sōma Maṇdala is a healing community space where we explore healing practices rooted in the Somatic Experiencing and Yogic wisdom traditions. This is an initiative by Zensei & Yogaśāla and anchored by Hariprasad Varma, in collaboration with other SE™ practitioners globally.

The free session will be anchored by Hariprasad Varma. For the paid session, Hari will be joined by a co-facilitator from the international Somatic Experiencing Practitioner community.
